Time for action

Annalong and Bangor showed two sides of Santos.      ANNALONG A BATTLING PERFORMANCE TO OVERCOME HORRIBLE CONDITIONS, ........ BANGOR A SURRENDER BY SOME PLAYERS.  We have come a long way in 5 years  but it was not all done on the pitch. The assembling of a group of players the organization and the building of a reputation was painstaking and exhausting.  Every player can say that he is respected throughout football as a member of Santos. WE are maybe the MOST respected club in the whole of the Amateur League. On the pitch we have won with pride and lost with dignity. All the time I felt I had a great set of players playing to the best of their ability and I felt I contributed to success and development giving all I had in organization and coaching.  On Sat last and over a number of games I must say it has been hard. I saw tactics that have won games for us and made us feared, flouted.  I have seen great courage in the hearts of several players wasted by the attitude of others. I have seen tactics made a joke of and I have been HURT.  I examined my ideas to see if perhaps I am getting it wrong but I see flashes of magnificent football played the way it was coached and flashes of rubbish where players have simply done their own thing.  I have seen us punished by this slapdash attitude so I know  ... I AM RIGHT.  As I push this team towards my final objective for you a...  League Title.... I am looking at Swifts and 18th Newtownabbey and I see only a tiny. tiny gap BUT that gap will widen if I cannot get the 100% suport of all in the carrying out of our objectives. 5 matches to go I do not want to see courage and dedication as I have seen (and I HAVE  PUT In myself) wasted.   If necessary I will concede results and bring in kids who will play the Santos way.  I am holding a mirror in front of you all... can you look in there and say " I did all I could for my manager ,my club and my mates"   Most of you will be able to see looking back an honest person who has pride in what he has tried to do.  If that is not the case then you must ask " can I rededicate myself to Santos or is it time to go". As manager I hold the challenge before you... BUT I will be brutal in my selections now...  if I feel you cannot be honest with your friends out there  on the  field then.... I   WILL wield the axe.
