ONE THAT GOT AWAY

Tuesday saw three pieces of ill luck mar a great display. Starting at breathtaking pace we really opened Bangor up and a super ball from Harmo put Lazio in and he fairly crashed it in. Then with the entire team stopping for an apparent head injury to a Ranger's player the ball was lobbed over the static defence for a goal that came from our sportsmanship. But Manus O Gorman worked his magic down the right and squared for Lazio to finish again. Holding the lead easily Santos blundered, failing to mark the Rangers towering striker, who had an easy header from a corner to gain the equaliser. In the second half Santos pace was cutting through the Bangor defence when an innocous long punt caught the Doc out and the winger raced unchallenged to net. Then disaster 3 as a free kick( wrongly awarded )was sailing wide when it struck Squire and diverted bast a helpless Hughesie foe the killer goal. Still Cormo and Clarkey should have scored as open goals were spurned. So it escaped us but the attitude and the performance were excellent.
